Training is essential, since it provides the necessary knowledge to know how to deal with the different situations that arise in daily life. Both personally and at work, knowing how to perform determines the degree of success that can be obtained.
In terms of sustainability, imparting knowledge about what can be done, how to contribute to the fight against climate change, the importance of species and more, plays a fundamental role in achieving sustainability goals.
To contribute to the training and acquisition of knowledge, GEF (Global Education Forum) and WISE (Qatar Foundation Project) will hold the event “GEF & WISE @Medellín”, which will be held on May 24 and will bring together more than 800 heads of the world education sector to discuss the construction of the future of education in Latin America.
Meeting point
The meeting will be held in Medellín, Colombia, and will last one day, becoming the largest meeting on education held in Latin America to date. In addition, it will have the motto “Beyond education – Involve an entire society in learning”.
The EAFIT University has been selected as the location for the summit, in collaboration with the Fundación Escuela Nueva, the Fundación Pies Descalzos, the Colegio San José de las Vegas, the Marymount School, COMFAMA, Cosmo Schools, RUTA N and the Medellín mayor’s office as local partners.
All of them will be prepared to receive hundreds of actors who will talk about the global educational ecosystem, its future, learning landscape, entrepreneurship, sustainability, well-being and leadership.
The participation of the attendees will also be encouraged through a program of activities before and after the forum, which will include various partners, such as the Medellín Global Citizenship Challenge, where one of the organized activities will be the grouping of students of different nationalities to work in projects that address the challenges faced by the communities of Medellín.
