The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) granted two definitive concessions and one temporary concession for studies of three projects of power generation plants with renewable energies (RER), which will allow meeting the future energy demand of Peruvians in various regions with sources sustainable and friendly to the environment.
The first of these is the definitive concession to develop electricity generation activity with renewable energy resources for the “Central Solar Fotovoltaica Sunny” project, located in the district of La Joya, Arequipa region, with an installed capacity of 204 megawatts (MW ). Said concession was granted in favor of Kallpa Generación through Ministerial Resolution No. 054-2023-MINEM/DM.
Likewise, the definitive concession was granted in favor of the company Hidroeléctrica América to develop the activity of electric power generation with renewable energy resources in the project “Central Hidroeléctrica Pachachaca 2”, with an installed capacity of 19.8 MW, located in the provinces of Andahuaylas and Abancay, respectively, in the Apurímac region, according to Ministerial Resolution No. 067-2023-MINEM/DM.
Finally, through Ministerial Resolution No. 050-2023-MINEM/DM, the company Zeus Energía S.A.C. is authorized to develop feasibility studies. for the “Parque Eólico Huáscar” project with an estimated installed capacity of 300 MW, located in the province of Paita, Piura region.
The Minem highlighted that the granting of these concessions, through the General Directorate of Electricity (DGE), consolidates the Government’s policy of promoting investments in renewable energies, which contribute to achieving the decarbonization of the country’s energy matrix, in benefit of all Peruvians.
